Nothing says summer quite like a ripe, juicy peach. This summer, McCarthy Family Farm is introducing fresh, local peaches to our online store. Starting in July, we’ll be harvesting three varieties of delicious peaches. Here are some suggestions on how to eat them.
One of McCarthy Family Farm's best-kept secrets is our fields of locally grown peonies in the upper Hood River Valley. June through August, these full, showy flowers burst with big layers of colorful petals and a sweet, timeless fragrance. This year, they will be available in our online store.
Our great-grandfather, Homer Rogers, homesteaded in the upper Hood River Valley in 1910. When he discovered that the fertile volcanic soils around Mount Hood produced some of the best-tasting apples he’s ever tasted, he planted a small orchard where trees still remain today.
