Preserving Farm and Forestland

We’ve learned over decades of farming that the more people know about a place, the more they will value protecting it.

  • We’re engaged and active in our community, working for the protection of the Hood River Valley’s farm and forestland and a more livable community.
  • Recognizing the growing pressures of development around Mt. Hood, Kate McCarthy and her son, Mike helped launch Hood River Valley Residents Committee, a land-use advocacy nonprofit committed to preserving farm and forestland in the Hood River Valley.
  • We manage our orchards and forests in ways that promote biodiversity and responsible land management.
  • We have conservation easements on over 50 acres of both farm and forestland.
